Photo Training

Photo Training York is run by Keith Meadley, a studio based professional in York, who has been running courses with the Adult Education Department of the City of York Council for the past eight years or so. A number of his students have advanced to a high standard in the area, some holding exhibitions of their work, others having work published. Many more still passionate about their photography, 'just for fun'.

We offer training in photography from beginners to more advanced photographers. It is not our intention to teach digital manipulation but concentrate on the basic ethos of photography.

Beginner....

For those who have just bought their first camera and want to learn how to use it. It is not essential that you have any prior knowledge of photography as all (well nearly all!!!) will be revealed. The Beginners Introductory Course is a one to one course intended get you to know your new camera. You will find out how to turn it on (very important!!) and learn what are the basic settings. You will also be shown what to do with the photographs on your camera. Bring along your camera and lap top (if you have one). 1 person; 1 hour £40.00.

Beginners Photography....

Are you using your camera on automatic and not always getting the results you require, then this is the course for you. The course will introduce you to manual control to put YOU in charge of the camera. We will cover apertures, shutter settings, ISO, etc.  Max no per course 4; 2.5 hrs; £75.00 per person.

Intermediate....

For those who have had a camera for some time but are not sure of why they are (or are not!!) getting results. This course will go further into the why's and wherefore's of depth of field, composition and exposure. The course can be tailored to suite your individual needs, or be run with a small group to suit.
